National Inter Faith Week 15-21 November 09 across Welwyn Hatfield has seen a wonderful week of learning, love and laughter. Faith communities of the Borough have opened their doors to those of other faiths and none, hosting a full programme of events.

Around 60 people enjoyed the experience of an illustrated Shabbat service, with prayers being read in Hebrew, thankfully translated into English, as well as a full house at a 'Bring and Share' meal at the Focolare Centre for Unity on Parkway – an evening of feasting and entertainment with 90 people present.

Members of the Welwyn Hatfield Inter Faith Group were also put on the spot on Wednesday as the girls of Year 7 at Bishops Hatfield School fired questions at a 'Question Time' event.

Chair of the group, Christine Novelli said, "I was really impressed at the enthusiasm of the girls – I think the panel did a good job at taking RE out of the text book and into real life. The message that Inter Faith is about building relationships and working together for the common good, despite having fundamental differences, came across loud and clear".
